    Thanks for the tips it makes me really wish I started sooner like at his age. One question you say you want a higher wave count because you learn faster but should you focus on getting more waves first so you get more practice, or try and perfect your techniques first slowly and then try and get more waves to practice once you perfect it?

    Ive taken kids out as young as 3…start them first standing on the board on dry land on a longboard, then as they get comfortable ill catch small waves with them just sitting…ive gotten kids comfortable enough to catch small waves with them and they let me stand them up…and depending on their swimming and comfort in the ocean, id say around 5-6 years kids can start trying to catch small whitewater and getting up on their own, with supervision of course!
