really? maybe if ure all the way that high. If u do from All the way down at the decline to half way up, its LITERALLY NO LOWER BACK MUSCLE INVOLVED. Its just your Quads that ur using to hold on to that part and your whole Abs an ur sides for v cut. This is GOOD man. Requires strong core though . I have a back disc and this and hanging leg raises helped me ALOT along with planques

@Marionet64 It works your hip flexors, yes. Purely because of the leverage you get on this bench thing. It may work your lower abs slightly, but it's terrible for your back and doesn't even contract your abs well.

@GentianNB doing kick boxing is the best thing you can do for burning fat and a shitload of callaries i kick box hr twice a week and im drenched in sweat i wasnt talking about doing abb workouts so i dont understand you reply that good i hope i anwered it

the best way to get abs is to do karate style kicks to a heavy bag any one who has knows what im talking about after 20 minutes of kicks you can feel your abs get sore and stiffen

Any form of sit-up is hard on the lower back, because the hip flexors do all of the work while the abs are hit isometrically. You will literally get the same workout from tensing your core for a few minutes.

    Crunches are much better.

I have to agree with them, everytime i do this exercise i feel im working some hip muscle, and no bitches dont tell me i do it the wronge way..i do it the right way..

i do this excercise but always go back down to the pad. I feel it in my lower abs and hip flexors. the way he's doing it i can see why it stresses your back. I don't know about this exercise i might cut it down or out completely.

@pedritooo09 also it is simply impossible to move your torso within that range of motion using only your abs…your abs can only crunch, similar range of motion to your lower back

  9. Osamah Kmail

@pedritooo09 NO you wrong….the hip flexor's action is primarily to lift the upper leg towards the body when the body is fixed OR to pull the body towards the leg when the leg is fixed

@pedritooo09 There is no safe way to do this exercise mate. I'm not some gym monkey, i've done biomechanical and musculoskeletal research and papers on abdominal activation during situps and crunches and its fucking stupid exercise all together. No safe way to do it.

My buddies do this exercise all the time. I never do. Not to brag, but my Abs are a great deal better then theirs. They say its just because I was blessed that way. The truth is I have been working on my abs for a insanely long time. I have not been naturally blessed with great abdominals. Its been my main focus. Trust me, you are wasting your time on this exercise. These two know what they are talking about. I suggest doing hanging leg lifts, a weighted crunch bench and incline leg lifts.

@pedritooo09 Yeah you're right this is a good exercise for the abs but people with weak lower backs that are prone to injury shouldn't do this exercise.
