The very best way to understand bar chords is to put together in actions. This is a wonderful physical exercise that I use in my guitar procedure. When properly organized bar chords are not that tough AND we can stay away from a large amount of stress and disappointment.

Sort of…you might want to have someone check your guitar out. It might be that you just need to strengthen your fingers, but possibly lighter strings or even an adjustment on your guitar could help. Check out my free "7 Deadly Guitar Learning Mistakes" course. There's good information in there about what to look for in a guitar.

same here! I am just now getting very comfortable and am ready to move on and learn more chords, but mostly bar chords are left and I get to irritated trying to just hold the bar down!!

One of the main problems I have is getting the whole of my finger to make all the strings go down, I've found that the center string isn't being pushed down all the way, is that normal?
