Thank you to those who have taken the time to answer my comments. I tried to respond a first time: but my text seems to have disappeared… Here we go again.
One contributor says that "Hypnosis is about putting the conscious mind to sleep", but I ask how I could do this, since putting it to sleep would require a conscious effort on my part. I'm told this is irony. But if it is, then it isn't meant to be. Simply: I have never achieved a trance-like state.
Someone suggests that I have "hypnotised myself into believing I can't be hypnotised"? That's a new one to me! But no. Because if I had done that I would be "hypnotisable" and someone somewhere could reverse it.
Years ago, when I had never tried anything of that sort before, I was asked to take part in a series of tests on hypnosis organised for scientific purposes. I was intrigued, eager to try, I expected it to work.
During the tests I remember feeling very comfortable, even drowsy: comfortable armchair, warm room… The hypnotist would speak in a low, soothing voice, asking me to imagine various relaxing situations, then (for instance) he would ask me to imagine I was going down some stairs. He would count them slowly, then gently make a suggestion – "your arm is feeling heavy, so heavy you can't lift it" (you know the sort of thing). I'd then raise my arm and wave it around saying "sorry!".
After two one-hour sessions, trying various other relaxation scenarios and suggestions, they told me I couldn't be hypnotised. It didn't bother them of course, since negative results are perfectly acceptable in clinical tests. But I was disappointed, since I had genuinely wanted it to work.
Since then I've tried once or twice to follow on line hypnotists. No luck.
One hypnotist told me that it might help if I first did relaxation exercises twice a day, for about two or three weeks. I see that someone here suggests Yoga or "buddhist assistance"…What they are saying is that in my present state I am not "hypnotisable".
    My point exactly.
In countless websites and articles, people say "everyone can be hypnotised". But I don't see anyone adding that "but some people need to do regular exercises first, for weeks".
And another thing: the hypnotist who told me about the exercises admitted that even if I did them, there would be no guarantees.

None of these work with me. For these to work, I would have to be suggestible to hypnosis, which I am not.
I get irritated sometimes by people who seem to assume: everyone can be hypnotised. This is not the case

  3. Unlimited Progress

The thing about hypnosis and hypnotists are.. Since hypnotists are super suiper super condiitoned about hypnosis.. They are the most easy hypnosis subjects themselves.. without knowing it.

What i've learned is hypnotists are unique in the fact that the ycan be covertly hypnotized alot easier than someone who does not know how hypnosis works or how its done

I've hypnotized 3 hypnotists in my time.. got them to a pretty deep state .. one however had an adverse affect.. he started giving signs of narcolepsy

  4. The Mantis

+The Mantis Now I watch it again after like a month and hell it worked. I tried it from memory yesterday night. I started with something simple like paralysing my hand or legs and it worked. then I paralysed my whole body worked. I made myself not be able to speak. almost everything worked. This is great. The only thing I noticed is that I can't do the light arm thing. Also I could give myself suggestions to prevent myself from doing something and it would work but when I was giving myself a suggestion to actually do something it didn't work. Why?

How do I know, I'm actually hypnotized? How do I know I don't lift my arm because I can't and not just because I subconsciously chose not to, because I wanted it to work. This is strange.

  6. Chilled Visuals

I can't get it! I am just starting with this kind of thing and I haven't been able to hypnotize myself or go into trance once! I got my eyes shut but once I get to the heavy arm I can't get past it!

  7. Nolan Parkour

Oh my gosh it worked! I tried making my self neater and use proper grammer like this and I cleaned my room and my whole HOUSE even my dog's cage. Yeah. Wow.

  8. Davey Hi

What happens when the convincers fail (you can lift your heavy arm) and they convince you that hypnosis doesn't work, at least not for you?

  9. luca marco

    excellent method!
    1. heavy eyes
    2. heavy right arm
    3. light left arm
    give yourself your suggestion (one)
    I know another method:
    1. look at 1 point with your eyes completly open (in Bologna -Italian town, they say 'andare in oca' ), for as much time as you can.
    give yourself your suggestion.

This guy showed up at after prom one year, he was a hypnotist. He asked people in the crowd if they wanted to be hypnotized, so i volunteered. He said that if you take a mind altering substance, than please tell him, something about it not working well with hypnotism. Well, i take adderall for my adhd, but i didnt tell him that. Lol i went through that whole thing and acted like i was hypnotised, then he asked us to do an irish jig. I had no idea what to do, so i just stood there…and looked stupid… lol. This is my experiance with hypnotism, and i want to know why it doesnt work with me. I told myself it was working, but it wasn't…

This was quite interesting. Certainly seems viable as a mix in with some other methods (each to suit the user better). Thank you for sharing this video, this gave me some valuable ideas.

is it possible for me to make myself think I am wearing something I am not for a certain amount of time. For example, make myself think I have really long girl hair, even when I don't?
