"I have girlfriends' whose parents have never told them their beautiful." – Yup, that's right, my parents are one of "those parents". Get called fat everyday!

Cant agree with you more. Asian parents do it all the time but what I don't get is that their kids' small eyes genes come from them lol are they saying they're ugly too

she looks like a manequi and she's white and wants to be whiter I guess she should just paint her face with white paint of something bc she looks like a paper or a white wall. Plastic surgery is ok but when you do it to the extent that you don't even look real that's weird. She looks beautiful though but not real.

My mom always said me, that I look completely ok and I don't need something like a plastic surgery. I'm really thankful for this! Handsome Sehun and my cute Bomtaro are just gorgeous, but looking like them isn't unique and for my beauty is being like one of a kind. I don't get trends tho

When I was like 2 or 3 years old, my mom would pinch the bridge of my nose so my nose would look higher. She said that a higher nose would look more beautiful. [tbh I have never heard of that]
My nose has a small bump on the bridge
My mom still cares about my beauty now on the skin. She would make me rub lotion, coconut oil, that kind of stuff. But never she have made me wear any makeup because she believes in natural beauty

I can't really judge the Asian culture since I am not Asian. Let me tell you honestly. I come from an Arab country. We Arabs don't have the typical blonde hair and blue eyes of the West and we don't have the smooth skin and youth of the East. You don't find a lot of Arabs who are beautiful. As I grew up, I have heard a lot of compliments on my hair because it's soft and long. My mom would tell me that I have small features which makes me cute. To be honest, I do not think I'm cute. I'm not pretty but I'm not ugly. I'm just an average girl. I have a small, skinny body and am short. Living in the West right now, I don't have the ideal body image of society. I couldn't care less about my looks. But growing up hearing compliments about my looks, I gained confidence in myself. I might not have the prettiest face, or the hottest body, but I sure have my self-esteem.

Being a parent means that you have to love your kids for who they are. Even if they are not pretty, compliment them. You don't even have to mention their looks. You can compliment them on their personalities or intelligence. Just hearing those words from parents, kids feel happy and confident in themselves. Do not tell them they're ugly. Don't tell them that they should get plastic surgery because by saying those unpleasant things, they being to hate themselves. And believe me self hatred is not very nice. I know that because I have experienced it before.

The people in the video seemed to point out very important points about the culture. However, the reason that girl got plastic surgery is to get her boyfriend back. Whether it's a culture thing or just a normal heartbroken girl who wants to get back with her boyfriend, that girl ruined her perfectly fine body for a guy who will freak out when he sees her looking like that.

The message is love yourself for who you are. You don't have to have a pretty face or a slim body. A person is not just about looks. You can be beautiful in your own way. You don't have to fit in society beauty standards. Everyone has different standards. And remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I, for one, find pretty or handsome faces boring. There are more interesting things to unique, exotic faces. (Even though I am a Kpop fan and I love a lot of pretty girls and handsome boys in Kpop, my main reason for my love for them is their personalities and voices to be very honest.)
