Here's a heads up…You can change that.ribs, cheese, gravy, candy, and junk food although seems happily eaten by your bird, may deteriorate its health overtime and is much worse to them than to us. Just cause your bird eats it doesn't mean its healthy. Overall, you have to control its diet or your looking at expensive vet bills, shortened lifespan, and other complications I have seen this many times myself and its always the result of an owner who believes this is spoiling it.

Congratulations. Great to hear! They can get picky but after diversifying his diet to hardly include any staple, I found that diversity is what he craved. That too much of one thing wasn't just unbalanced nutritionally but boring. These guys love to forage and will even drop tempting sunflower seeds for a chance to search a harvested seed pod, intelligent and investigate like Kea Parrots but can naturally panic easily as well. time to investigate every item on his own works well.GoodLuck!

Our baby Illiger was just born on the 4th! We already have a Hahns Macaw, and he's pretty picky on food, so we want to get our new baby used to all different types of foods early on.

@srevinUreuqno Twice a day once in the morning and once in the evening if wings are clipped. Mac's wings aren't clipped so food is avail 24 /7 but hidden in places for him to look and forage for. These macaws move fast and burn calories fast as well. Let them utilize their minds and energy as well with this strategy.

@pizzleman3g Thanks and yes variety is the key in feeding as they are what they eat. The outcome of these parrots depends chiefly on their nutrition among other things as well. Good luck.
