 Snoring  is something that can’t be controlled which puts a lot of people in an embarrassing situation. You may be ashamed to sleep when you travel in planes, buses, or trains because of this problem of yours which leaves you exhausted since you may end up not getting any rest at all. Worse, you may be too afraid to  sleep  next to your partner for fear that he or she will be horrified when you start to  snore . If you are stuck sharing a room with other people, an instant technique to stop  snoring  is to elevate your head when you  sleep  by using a thick pillow or several pillows on top of one another. It is better if these pillows are firm because if they are too soft, then it won’t help you at all. Also, rather than  sleeping  on your back, position yourself to  sleep  sideways as this helps prevent  snoring  as well.

Another  tip  to prevent  snoring  is to avoid certain foods. Eating dairy products and rich foods like cakes, chocolates, and cookies causes mucus to build-up, which is why you should avoid these prior to bedtime. Having a big meal right before bed is also not a good idea as having a full stomach will minimize your air passage ways causing you to  snore .

Habits such as smoking and drinking alcohol should be stopped, as these are a cause for  snoring . Smoking causes the throat to swell up which isn’t good, and drinking alcohol makes your muscles too relaxed that the air passage way is minimized. However taking anti-snoring pills or using anti-snoring sprays may be helpful with your  snoring  situation.

Being overweight is also a cause for frequent  snoring . If you are a bit on the heavy side, losing some weight would be a great way for you to reduce your  snoring  problem. This is because the space in your air passage way is increased as you lose weight. Having a regular  sleeping  routine is also helpful in avoiding  snoring .

With these  tips  to stop  snoring , surely you can make  snore  stop in no time. Follow these and you won’t be experiencing any more problems. Of course if your  snoring  problem still persists or doesn’t improve, than seeing a doctor is highly recommended.
