I agree about will-power being a skill. I started going to the gym, and eating better.. but I had to teach myself slowly because I DO have problems with eating badly, but I practiced resisting the bad foods for longer moments until I could tell myself I didn't need the thing. Also I'm teaching myself motivation and discipline at the gym. I read somewhere that you should use your brain as the sargeant, and your body as the soldier.. your brain tells your body what to do.
This is so close to my own experience, and I identify so deeply with that feeling of wanting to do something in the morning and then layering so many excuses on top over the course of the day that I've talked myself out of it by the time I should head out the door. It's so difficult sometimes to distinguish between rational allowances and irrational excuses in the moment! Thank you for sharing this.
I like how u say to focus on the physical aspects of doing something social b/c those are the real consequences of interacting with someone, and even the physical consequences wouldn't be so bad. So, I got punched in the face, I'll live. lol Anyway, yur right. All the mental anxiety is made up in our imaginations. If only we could use our imaginations for positives… we'd probably be a lot better off. Take more risks, be more successful. Experience more, at least. Thanks for the good thoughts.
well presented. do you also have any tips on procrastination/ making decisions even very basic ones like what to wear or what to eat, can be very annoying.
I am not a believer or a religious guy, but, sometimes, I like to think that when I do not want to go somewhere in spite of having make a commitment, this is because my guard angel, god, whatever, does not want me to go. It will be better for me to stay. So, I stay :-D
Thanks

you could work at a radio station youve got a nice voice
" Your thoughts are just some crazy person yelling at you on the phone." lol, I'm gonna remember that.
As I grow I notice that the more time I sacrifice being comfortable at that moment the more pleasure an euphoria I get in the long run.
I'm familiar with all the phenomenon you described, your commentary on tactics to overcome them is interesting. I expect this to be useful to me.

BTW, for me freedom is to do what I want when I want. What's the point of doing something that you don't feel like to do?

YES! Incredible video!
Sometimes I use boredom as a motivator to get myself to do something.
